Something's wrong with my life

Beginning of my life in enforcement times have really changed...i was to be more independent and lonely...Maybe it is a good thing for me for i was have to get used to such situation...all this while i have been having support from friends and family...This does not mean i currently don't have friends just that i basically got used to stucking at home on weekends and thinking of my home in KL more often...It is something i have to accept as people moved on and so I have to as well...But i can't help feeling that maybe the time is right for me to transfer back to my home in KL...I loved Johor a lot and the people here only I feel i'm blinded by the fact that can't be who i'm not and people already know me for i am....Just a question for those reading my blog (i bet no one haha) is it considered a cowardly move to transfer back to my home just because i begin to feel left behind ? I'm not sure I just feel it's my own fault to think like that... This was quote by Zora Neale Hurston " Trying to live without friends is like milking a bear for cream for your morning coffee. It is a whole lot of trouble and then not worth much after you get it" ....saddening thought right? I believe there can be no friendship without confidence and integrity which is why i find it troubling   

                            

Life as PRP

  • After graduation we were asked to have an interview in putrajaya. Since it was my first interview i was a bit nervous. But together with friends motivating one another it turned out to be fun actually. We were mostly asked the same question of whether we wanted to work in Sabah or Sarawak. My answer? a definite No... double pay sounds tempting but being separated so far from parents was something i can't bear after one year studying overseas..so when the interview ended everyone was given a acceptance letter n was told to wait for one or two months before we got our posting. One and a half months passed and i got my posting stating 'Johor'. I didn't really like it in the first place but at least it is within peninsular malaysia.
  • So on Sept 27th 2006 i headed down to johor with no expectation only thoughts on whether i was prepared for contributing a service for my profession. When i report in to the hospital in Johor Bahru. Met my chief pharmacist and she explained to me about my first year pubillage training and the stations that are available in a tertiary hospital
  • And so my first station was TPN. At first i didnt know what it stand for but i told my chief that i preferred that than clinical ward as my first station.So there i met my first friend named Margaret. She taught me a lot and was really serious on her work. I kinda enjoyed TPN because after much oncall i felt i connected to it some way as in a sense of responsibility to my patients receiving my product. It was this station that i met Pei Chin and Hooi Ying as well who really made the station a whole lot more fun.
  • After that i moved to next station in Stor where i was taught Local Purchase Order and handling DD...I met two more friends there that is Tay and Lim Hui..everything was going swell for me as i had support from really capable people...my third station was manufacturing which was another relaxing station where we learned admixture n how to make cream n lotion...then I moved on to CDR which is reconstituting chemo drugs ...there i felt a bit trapped in a suit and was really choking in the filter room...Two weeks later i moved on to DIS where our main objective was to answer questions given to us by doctors,fellow collegues and patients based on reference provided..
  • 5 stations and i still had no daily patient contact...then the hard stations came ...OPD station was next where i was to dispense,counsel and prepare medication to patients...Words to describe this station : Exhausting, stressful, pressure and hungry... You get the picture =P And before i know it , february came i was in Inpatient station...to me that was the hardest station and most nerve wrecking...filled with unexpected problems and unwanted trouble...perseverance got me through...
  • After two months of Inpatient...i went to enforcement whereby i learned a different part of pharmacy..based on law, catching crooks and prosecuting them...it was really fun and less stressful...i really enjoyed my self there...then I was back in OPD after one month... i didnt really like my schedule after that because it was like three and half months of what i considered hard stations hehe...
  • But OPD turned not too bad as the time i went in past january because i was not prepared then...moved to TDM after that and i really loved this station..at first my thoughts were 'need to do a lot of calculations and recommendations should be a boring station' ...but instead i end up having a good leader who teached me alot and i felt how important role pharmacists played in this station...at least people in the ward was listening to our suggestions..and actually making the changes...
  • Then i went to clinical ward station..it was said that if ward was your last station it would be easier because you would have learned a lot from the past stations to handle what is thrown at you...i find it true but still there bound to be problems from time to time..my leader then was Teoh who guide me through well and i realised how hard it was to intervene with doctors...
  • Completing all these stations was a good training process but what made it better was people i met along the way who made me tough , who made me laugh and who made me better...Margaret,Melissa, Tay, Hooi Ying, Lim Hui, Tracy, Vanessa, Irma Wati, Farah, Ainal, Pei Chin, Cheau Chen, Ling Nee, Yen, Yuen Kwan, Ying Erl, Boon Kiong, Kian Boon, Maria, Hidayah, Sabariah, Siti, Asmah, See Leau, Li Hun and Wooi Kyun

End of Finals: Europe Trip Begins Part 2

6th Place: Paris, France

Accommodation: 0 star For 1st hostel & 4 star for the hotel

Food: 2 stars

Attraction: 4 stars

Transport: 2 stars

Entertainment: 2 stars

Comment: The hottest place to go during summer for me. Almost died of dehydration. But check out Tower of Paris(night view even better), Versaille Palace(a must), Lourve, Moulin Rouge, Arc De Triumph and Notre Dame. Many of my friends criticised Disneyland due to limited rides and long queues so not recommended. Food wise very costly especially if want to try french cuisine like escargot. Accommodation is reasonable for one star hotels (definitely better than the haunted hostel that we stayed on the first night).

7th Destination: Milan, Italy

Accommodation: Nil (Didn't stay)

Food: 2 stars

Attraction: 1 stars

Transport: Nil (walk)

Entertainment: 1 stars

Comment: Nothing much here but filled with beggars. Even the football stadium was quite dissapointing. Not worth staying but can stop by if want to see castle. 

8th Destination: Venice, Italy

Accommodation: 5 stars (Apartment)

Food: 3 stars

Attraction: 4 stars

Transport: Nil (walk)

Entertainment: 2 stars

Comment: A very unique place for lovebirds as there are alot of romantic spots. But night time would be better if there is moonlight and the whole area is deserted. Famous for porceline mask and murano glass piece the price for souvenirs is quite reasonable due to competition. If willing to spend more, can try out the Gondola where you will be aboard a boat sailed by a man wearing a mosquito apttern T-shirt. Food mostly are pizzas but try out the octopus ink spaghetti. Don't really remember the names of the attraction but most are church. Stay in apartment if possible as you won't regret it.

9th destination: Florence & Pisa, Italy 

Accommodation: 2 stars

Food: 4 stars

Attraction: 3 stars

Transport: Nil (walk)

Entertainment: 1 stars

Comment: Yea Leaning Tower of Pisa!!! Ok that's the point of this destination the rest is just normal stuff. Food quite economical and every part of Italy has Gelato ice cream so no worries. Souvenirs cheap especially ornaments so buy some.

10th destination: Rome, Italy

Accommodation: 4 stars (Own Room Hostel)

Food: 3 stars

Attraction: 4 stars

Transport: 1 star

Entertainment: 3 stars

Comment: A lot of historical sites like colloseum, Panathion and The Forum. Romantic spots like Travis Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Food we end up in chinese restaurant so can roughly tell how sick we were with Italian food. Bus was torturing as it was in Paris due to heat weather with no air cond. In all wasn't a bad place to go to especially if you're a Roma club fan.

End of Finals : Europe Trip Begins Part 1

Yahoo finally exam is over (I know I know abit too late to blog it now but pretending to be happy). So from here on I will preview on my Europe trip.

1st place: Dublin, Ireland

Accommodation: 3 stars

Food: 2.5 stars

Attraction: 3 stars

Transport: 3 stars

Entertainment: 2 stars

Comments: Guinness is a must as you’ll learn a lot from the process of beer and free beer tasting. Food is only fish and chips and added with the frequent raining during summer you will only wish to stay back at the hostel. But the souvenirs are cheap and affordable for a liquor chocolate.

2nd place: Brussels, Belgium 

Accommodation: 3 stars

Food: 3.5 stars

Attraction: 3 stars

Transport: 3 stars

Entertainment: 2.5 stars

Comments: Eat the waffles and Belgian Chocolate (Guylian as recommended by Kyun n LY) and you will be filled with sweet sensation. Attraction is described between small and large. Small for Manneken Pis and large for Grand Palace and Atomium.

3rd Place: Amsterdam, Holland

Accommodation: 1 star

Food: 3.5 stars

Attraction: 3 stars   

Transport: 3 stars

Entertainment: 4.5 stars

Comments: Ok I won’t deny R.L.D was hell of an experience but what’s more the food was really cheap there ( 3 euro for a large hotdog). And if have time try taking the paddle boat and trust me you will wish you are back on dry land =p Had fever during this trip so wasn’t really conscious but thanks to SV for the medication really appreciate it. Yeah about the accommodation, was cheated by the fact the hotel was actually a hostel and was really expensive. But the breakfast was cheese omelette so I can’t complain about that.

4th place: Kohn, Germany

Accommodation: Nil (Didn’t stay)

Food: 4 stars

Attraction: 3 stars

Transport: 3 stars

Entertainment: 2 stars

Comments: Ok we were quite rush cause we only stopped by here due to World Cup fever before heading to Switzerland. I really loved the food especially the large sized sausages. Their McDonald have McRib and it is really tasty. Attraction should visit the World Cup stadium and there is a lovely Gothic next to the train station.

5th place: Zurich, Switzerland

Accommodation: 3.5 stars

Food: 4 stars

Attraction: 5 stars

Transport: 3.5 stars

Entertainment: 3.5 stars

Comments: I like everything about this place. They sell my favourite branded watch Swatch, their chocolate Lindst is one of the best, nature loving people will love their sightseeing and their McDonald is very special. Practically everything is a clean and peaceful spot so I loved it a lot. Rheinfalls and Swiss Alps could only make it a perfect place to relax.

Final Year Exams In May: Crucial Moment In Glasgow

Final exams started...this is where I stepped into the exam hall with no confidence whatsoever but just with thought "I'm going to pass these papers to make my way home". All will be over in three weeks time starting 2nd of May. Work hard enjoy later ( Europe trip just ahead so bring it on!!! ) Oh yeah our uni was facing this AUT strike which affected us a lot. There was a fearful verdict that no one would marked our paper. But keep my fingers cross that I won't screw up my papers ^^. Oh yeah the only pic I have of me in the library =P Something rare and treasured hehe

Late (very late) Update on my Stay in Glasgow!!!!

Man how long has it been since I last post my blog. Ok almost 7 months but forgive me for I am not multi task =P So how do I brief through my life in Glasgow fast and sweet ? I'll try so hold on to your seats:

1) Mid Towards End Of January: Preparing for exams (Hm that was like most of the 'FUN' things in my life), had chinese new year celebration with friends where we had our own steamboat. Yeah we also had potluck on 21st January where Jim cooked way A LOT of spaghetti but all was good. Had pharmacology final project lab sessions (Was really tiring but more spaced out compared to the Pharm Science students. Here is one pic:

P1010018 2) Beginning February Towards March : Exams, assignments, assignments, was it assignments ???!!!! We had to do Pharm care essay writings but I won't like to bring back such torturing past so let's move on. Had a break by going to Sheffield United on the 26th of february to stay at Tzeh Ming's house and from there we head on to Manchester United. Ok not really a MU fan but got to check out Old Trafford the Theatre of Dreams as people call it. Enjoyed the place a lot and the Dim Sum was nice and price was reasonable. Only downfall was the rain which pours heavily during winter. Oh yeah another pic:

Dscn2637 3) Beginning of March towards the End: Drawing close to end of my course semester 8 (final semester). But as usual still enjoying myself with any chance I got. Celebrated WY's, Kyun's, Yi Hui's n HK's birthday. Organized Football Jersey Day since most of my batch mates had one jersey in their closet. Majority had MU jersey with their name on it (especially number 7!!) I got myself an England jersey but no back printing hehe. And I almost forgot about the thick snow during March 12th 2006 which was almost knee length high. Anothe distraction from studies =P It got to a really stressful point during this month cause everything was breezing through like after handing in assignments, we must hand in final year project then we have to do presentation and it doesn't stop there cause limited study break was provided for us with five subjects to cover in May. So definitely not cheerful during that period hehe. Pic on jersey Day:

Dscn2703 4) Month of April (April Fools Day + Doomsday approaching): Was a real BORING month. A few of my friends went Amsterdam to see the tulips but I decided to stayed back cause I really needed to catch up on my studies. Required a lot of planning on how to cram 5 books of studies into my unknown size brain. Oh take my advice: Pharm Care books is INSANELY impossible to memorize(well at least that was my opinion keke). My group of friends did a few things to lighten the stress by having nasi lemak gathering on April 2nd, met my long time friend Khin Siah on 12th of April and we got to eat breakfast at Counting House for one pound on 22nd April. Here are the pics (After this month exam period arrived so lets pretend I'm not free to post blog)  :

Glasgow: Spending my last few days of 2005...2006 Starts!!!

Ok i don't really remember what happened exactly on those last few days but here goes ( lazy to write blog la) :

1) 22nd December : Slept almost whole day because was tired after coming back from Spain on the 21st December.

2) 23rd December: Called premieship to confirm working on Boxing Day and went out to Tesco to buy groceries. (Boring boring) Did tong yuen with friends at SV place

3) 24th December: Had christmas dinner with batchmates at SV place. Bought one gigantic chicken and a turkey. Took almost four hours to stuff and grill the chicken an turkey. Was really full that night and KJ gave us christmas presents and cards that night thanks for being Santa =)

4) 25th December: Merry christmas !!!! Every shop was close so it was whole day sitting at home watching christmas programmes on television.

5) 26th December: Woke up at 7am to wait in line for Next shop to open. Shopped until 11am before walking to Celtic to work. One of the most tiring day in my life

6) 27th December: Preparing for KJ and SV birthday...J n WK went out to buy the stuff while we distracted SV to go shopping with me n LY. By night everything was ready we bought 3 cakes. We celebrated for SV first (first cake) and present him with his gifts. Then we waited for KJ arrival and then celebrated with the 2nd cake before giving extraordinary 'gifts'. Finally the third cake was for both of them and we had pictures taken.

7) 28th December: Didn't sleep the whole night cause was talking to my friend till 7am then I followed KJ and others to edinburgh zoo. Was really tiring and my whole body aching. And the purpose we went there was to see a polar bear but sadly the bear was so dirty with mud that turned out looking like a normal brown bear. Slept throughout in the train because was exhausted.

8) 29th December: Snowed at our hostel!!! Finally after so long hearing our seniors and grand seniors experienced it in the past years. We played sleigh (black plastic bag) and build snowman. Regretted by night when i fracture my leg for sliding into a wall =(

9) 30th December: Took SV friends out to walk around Scotland. Leg was  hurting badly and felt what would happened during new year celebration.

10) 31st December: Took 10am bus to Edinburgh. Went to illusion centre with SV friends. SV and WK also took the funfair rides while the others envy them =P There were a lot of rides and games to play there and we tried throwing the ring around the bottle cause the prize were big ones. Sadly, wasted two pounds so you know how I end up. By night everyone was crowding along the streets ready for Edinburgh Hogmanay New Year Celebration. We went and hang out at Starbucks cause it was too cold outside. Finally it was countdown time...10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1...Boom 2006 Year has begun!!!! It was the most beautiful two minute display of fireworks. When everything ended, we found out that the bus station was closed so we had to sleep in the streets. Only two words to describe that night : Near Death....

11) 1st January: Praise the  Lord!!! Finally made it back to Glasgow which was warmer and missed my room so much. Okie it was just one day but my life was almost reaching its end thanks to the icy cold weather. Not kidding ask those who suffered with me.

12) 4th January: A special day...

It was a great 2005 for me. I had battered through exams, pain and suffering( a bit exaggerated) and obstacles that eventually went well. My life now is much better and thanks to those who guide me through and my parent's support I start 2006 with a brighter view =)

Glasgow : Trip to Barcelona,Spain

Hola Como Esta Me Iyamo Terence (Hello how are you? My name is Terence) These were the few words I got to learn in Spain and needless to say I really didn’t want to leave that beautiful country. I spend five days and four nights in Barcelona going to most of the attraction sights and tasting Spanish delicacies. Here is my diary on the events that went on:

Day 1: We sat the train to Prestwick Airport at 11:30am and it took close to an hour before we reached. Then all 12 of us collected our boarding passes before we headed for the plane. Ok this may sound like ‘rusa masuk kampung’ but usually back in Malaysia we have to go through an interconnected bridge to enter the plane, but I was quite surprised that we got to walk on the airport base this time to board the plane. Once boarded it was a long two and half hours ride to Girona, Spain. Really boring ride as we waited anxiously for the plane to land. When we reached Girona airport we carried our luggages, went through the immigration counters and took a bus which transported us to Arc De Triomf of Barcelona. That was a one hour long ride and then we head our way to Liceu by train and settle at La Ramblas hostel. It was close to night time and we had dinner at LA ZARZUELA where it was a huge plate with seafood consisting of fish, prawns and mussels. We also ordered Paella de Marisco which is saffron rice garnished with seafood. After dinner, we walked around La Rambla street before heading back to hostel to sleep.

Day 2: Woke up at 7:30am to get ready for breakfast offered by the hostel. Wasn’t very appetizing actually cause only had cereal, bread, muffins and hot drinks. Then we head towards Turistic information centre to purchase ticket for a tour around Barcelona greatest attractions. The bus heads two routes that is the Red Route or the Blue Route. There is a green route but is closed during winter season. So we started at the meeting point which is Placa de Catalunya. There is a park in the middle which is filled with pigeons and there were two Spanish kids placing bird seeds on their head and arms. The birds flew all over them and we took the opportunity to have a picture taken with them. So our first destination of the day was Passeig de Gracia building that have two unique elements of hexagonal shaped pavement tile and magnificent streetlamp benches which line the entire avenue. We didn’t enter as it was costly but Jimmie did on the fourth day. Our second destination was Placa d’ Espanya where we skipped Estacio de Sants (A urban design area next to main train station called Sants Station). Placa de Espanya is a gateway to great park of Montjuic where we were hoping to see the magic fountain that changes colour but sadly is only during weekends and it was too late when we found out. We did all kinds of poses (SV creation) and took pictures there. Then there was a flight of stairs leading to MNAC the national art museum of Spain. KJ did a hilarious pose that got a Spanish laughing non stop. (I’ll leave her to tell you the story) We headed on to Anella Olimpica which represent the 1992 Olympic games. So happened that when I was heading to toilet I came across a stadium that was Espanyol club playing ground. After that, we journeyed on to Funicular de Montjuic and Miramar which are sight seeing places that offers views of Barcelona greenery and peak view of the city. World trade centre was our next destination where we quite disappointed by such small building eventhough it is a business centre with a built in hotel. We skipped the Maritim museum and went ahead to Port Vell which is considered the most entertaining area. It has Maremagnum a huge shopping complex, Imax theater and L’Aquarium. I considered that to be my kinda area because it consists of entertainment and by the sea view almost the ideal paradise. So we paid for the L’Aquarium entrance fee and enjoyed ourselves at the underwater world. Our 2nd last destination was Port Olimpic where we took a stroll along the sandy beaches (SV had a white-wash experience) and then had pictures taken at the Grand Casino as well. We skipped Parc de Ciutadella, which is the Zoo and went to Pla de Palau the Santa Maria church. But it was dark then and everything was closed so we walked back to La Rambla street and had dinner. My friends went to the bar after dinner while I went back and slept till morning.

Day 3: So we begin again with buffet breakfast of cereal and bread. Then I suggested having American breakfast on day 4 as SV was craving for bacon. Today time was essence as we want to cover as much attraction as we could. So we started the day off with Casa Battlo a building of legend art and architecture of all time. We skipped Sagrada Famillial (both of our friends separate from us to see it) because we wanted to leave it for day 4. We instead went to Park Guell another masterpiece of Gaudi’s work that is simply amazing. The unique public park has twirling structures and craved stones only come from the mind of a genius. Hehe we took pictures with Spanish chicks and then I bought a necklace with a pendant that looks like Konoha logo for 1 Euro. Tibidabo which is a popular amusement park was closed during weekdays so it was rather disappointing considering the Science Centre Planetarium was also there. But all good things come to those who wait so we ended up in Sarria a town well known for its cakes. We bought a few and here we met up with a baker who owns a PHD certificate for baking. And honestly his pizza and custard breads are really tasty and different. Then again we skipped Monestir de Pedralbes and Palau Reial, the Royal Palace because it was closed. The moment I’ve been waiting finally arrived when we reached Nou Camp, the biggest stadium in Europe and second in the world. It belongs to Barcelona club and there we went for the stadium tour and museum. Did you know that inside the stadium they even have a chapel for the players to pray before a match? So we also get to see the cups that the club won and they even have a huge merchandise centre sponsored by Nike. Finally we headed back to La Rambla and went to Museum Le Erotica where we learned a thing or two about classic films =P Then we had dinner at KFC before I followed my friends to the bar and slept at 1am.

Day 4: Early morning the guys had American breakfast before we set off to finish our final attraction that is the Sagrada Famillial and the view of the building design was outstanding. Ok so since we almost covered every destination in Barcelona we decided to go on shopping spree today. However everything here was quite costly except for the souvenir shop. That’s because we can bargain with the shopkeeper and I manage to buy a few T-shirts for my parents and a Barcelona jersey for myself. But I was most happy to be able to purchase Dunkin Donuts since it is not available in UK. Finally we had buffet at night which was like any buffet – pasta and salad….it wasn’t worth the money =P Then we met our other batch mates on the way back to the hostel. After talking and having pictures taken we stroll along the La Rambla street before ending up in the arcade game centre. We dozed off after heading back.

Day 5: We woke up and went out to have our black sauce Paella before making our back to the Girona airport. Everything was a bit of rush because of fear of missing the flight but we end up waiting for almost 2 hours long. Finally we landed back in Glasgow, took the train and reached Glasgow Central. We headed back home with our heavy luggages (came back with more items) and it was a tiring day. In all I feel Barcelona, Spain is a really beautiful place to settle in only for pickpockets to spoil it all so watch out!!!

Glasgow : Semester 7 over!!!

It all went in a flash and semester 7 is already over. Guess because of the schedule that includes lectures, workshops, labs and exams I never had the time to realize that in another few more months if everything goes my way I'll be heading home to Malaysia. I envy those who went back Malaysia this December as they can finally start consuming Malaysian food which I crave for a long time now. Hehe but enjoy yourselves I still have to wait until next year. Anyways this holiday I will be spending my holidays in Spain. I will be travelling together with another 9 of my friends. I was supposed to help my brother look for a magazine that is entitled Guerrin Sportivo in Spain but weirdly it is actually an Italian magazine which gives free football cards on Spain players. So this is how I will be spending my december :

1) Going for two days lab ( regret taking neuroscience)

2) Travel to Barcelona, Spain

3) Working on Boxing Day ( don't be like me trying to earn money when there is a big shopping sale taking place)

4) Go to Edinburgh Hogmanay for New Year celebration

5) Some where in between may try to prepare something special for that big day.

Recently I have been encountering something that I find it so hard to relate with my feelings. So this is something I would like to quote: When I'm in full of sadness my friends they stand in front of me, whispering words of wisdom let it be, so though we maybe parted there will be a time that you will see there will be an answer let it be. I replied you that day but maybe you never did got the message, or there never was a chance or fate that we will ever get back the way we were.

I have collected opinions from so many people who expressed all kinds of views on whether a guy can accept failure in love. My view is we could sustain or are we comfortable with the pain? Ask ourselves that question and then make a decision that in the end will hurt one party but at least we don't let it affect our lifestyle. Easier said than done or maybe that's so inconsiderate...well there was never a right move cause if there was then we never had to make this decision don't we? Think about it.
